>Piracy is a service problem, not a pricing issue
This bullshit just gets repeated ad infinitum by low level pirates who don't understand. It's BOTH a pricing and service problem. If you make every episode of the latest Netflix slop cost 200 bucks an episode, people will go pirate it even if it's harder to pirate than it is to just pay. In a vacuum where price doesn't exist, yes, then the situation depends on the service. But price does exist.
>Piracy isn't stealing, it's competition
Piracy is stealing. It's not a 1 to 1 like they try to make it out to be (ie, 1 pirated file = 1 lost sale), but you are robbing the creators of the money you'd have to spend to see the product. I can't stand people who keep saying it's "victimless" or in the right. I'm not even against piracy, I just don't like people getting on their high horses and spouting nonsense.
