Yeah, Miotsukushi changes the explanation from Hanyuu's selfishness to Hanyuu feeling like Rika was too dependent on her and needed to figure out how to escape and live by herself. So, it kind of dodges any direct negative concept on Hanyuu, even though if you consider how many people died due to this, it's really fucked up, but it's clearly not the point the story is trying to make.
