The issue is that we thought that creating an effete state would maximize our freedom by preventing the centralization of power. What it's actually done is created a power vacuum in which foreign concentrations of power can utilize their money to inflict changes on us that are largely to our detriment, outsourcing manufacturing to produce low quality goods, which come back here and are marked up considerably for what they are. You have no idea how many Mexican-made couches I've unwrapped just to find finishing errors, missing hardware, shit that's stapled in sloppily and haphazardly. I can't even be mad at the Mexicans who did it. They're getting paid like 25 cents an hour and living in a cardboard box.
It's hard to come back from this until things degrade to the point of unrest. Liberals have been crying for years about MUH FASCISTS, but because they wouldn't even entertain the idea that they're not right either, that they're part of the oligarchy they preach about, that might actually be a possibility in the ensuing chaos. If America ends up crumbling because it's just too fucking open, and all of these foreign and corporate CUNTS keep hollowing us out, the only state that'll survive is a fascist one.
