There certainly are better options but it's better than nothing and if you wanna just have a smol gun to quickly grab before heading out to grab the mail or walk your dog it's fine. Though at that point why wouldn't you just carry an NAA or Standard Manufacturing revolver for more convenience? 38spl is controllable with training so long as you don't carry Bubba's pissin hot loads that double as a flash bang. Hornady 90 Grain FTX Critical Defense Lite is fine.
