Yeah, they've been trying to push this locked down "Trusted Computing" shit for 30 goddamn years, and it looks like this might actually be the push that gets through.

Things are looking really bleak for freedom in cyberspace. I've been following the issue for 20 years and it's never been this bad.
There was a lot of pushback before but it's not the same now. Groups that would raise hell before are either sidelined or even happy to give their freedom away to prevent cheaters in online games/protect kids from social media/stop predators/avoid fake bot traffic/reduce terrorism+extremism/etc.
The free+open internet had a good run, at least.
