i own a couple of contemporary pieces from the 60s to now and except for one collage/colour study from the 60s, most is pompous shite. some is decorative and 'the nose' (62) by c.oldenburg is kinda funny as well as one miró drawing of a family with cat. nothing of it can really be called art. to me it's interior decoration. wouldn't mind some hitler architecture painting desu, mainly cause it's by hitler though. the stuff i'd consider art is not affordable to me. caspar david friedrich for instance or dürer. someone i know is into all that degenerative shit from 20s to 40s and it's literally repulsive. guy who made picrel is now a professor at a renowned art school and making a shitload of dough for being present one day per week. yeah, art.
