OK and who made the characters?
Credit to Korea for coming up with Hangul, that was pretty genius of King Sejong. (There's a fringe theory that Hangul is actually from the Mongol-Tibetan Phags-pa script, but I don't endorse it.) But Japan wouldn't have any script if not for Chinese characters! Even hiragana and katakana are from cursive forms of Hanzi (kanji).
Oh yeah both Koreas getting rid of Hanzi (hanja) was pretty retarded of them. Disgraceful and shameful cultural erasure. Unfortunately seems to be the route the illegal Taiwanese government seems to be headed.
