the best characters are the ones with high road speed, and leaning towards lighter weight except for the lowest weight. So Toadette, Nabbit, Peach, Daisy, Coin Coffer are the best. Baby Mario, Goomba, and Spike would be the next tier. Mario, Rocky Wrench, Pauline, Snowman, Piranha Plant, Wario, and Wiggler would be the tier after that. Baby Peach, Baby Daisy, Swooper, Biddybud, and Bowser all have time trial niches so they'd be the last tier.
