I find it so tiring. I think it is the rampant self importance and self promotion. Making themselves a brand and acting like their experience is some massive unmatched boon of knowledge.

We have hundreds of hours of podcasts hyping up the most mundane shit from GWOT while for older wars you will have a guy give a single 30 minute interview in his entire life where they recount the craziest shit you've ever heard so matter of factly like "I threw a white prosperous grenade into an Argentine position and they ran out burning like a roman candle" or "We had to clean bits of chinamen out of our tank's roadwheels after Chosin"
