badly for rocks, better to simulate walls or concrete
you would have to crush it quite a bit to get useful small rocks
you could also crush it all the way to sand-like consistency to use as general basing material

i wouldn't recommend it tho, you can hurt yourself with the shards while you are handling it if you are not careful
