Maybe it's stupid question but - would white spirit dissolve acrylic paints? I was wondering if I could use gouache varnish I have instead of water based but it's thinned with white spirit.
>>95869258Generally speaking, it should not. White spirit does not react with acrylics. However, if you completely flood the model with it and/or you are very (very!) rough with your cleanup, it might get under the acrylic paint and then it's all ogre.
In 99% of cases, you are safe. However, if you are using AP paints, you definitely need to varnish, because a lot of AP paints are some kind of garbage bin tier acrylics that get stripped down by white spirit.
>>95869312From AP I only use their washes. So I guess I should apply some other varnish, at least initially?

To the anon who told me to us AP quick paint to handle the zenithal undercoat, thanks, it worked out well.
I hope it still looks like the light comes from under the statue.
Also I dropped the mini, and since its 3d printed resin, All Might's antennae hair broke off. Which is actually for the best, since now it looks even more like the Leman Russ/Emperor statue I wanted it to be in the first place.
>>95868410Two ways. Do you want the stripes to be the focus or to be accent patterns? If you want it to be the focus then decide on what your main viewing angle will be then orient the stripes to look the best from that angle. If not the focus then whatever angle fits best within the space that you are going to paint the hazard stripes in.
Well bros after trying both I'm not seeing any difference between AK white and Vallejo white, they might as well be the exact same recipe. Still better than Corax of course
>>95868699cool shit but I think the only thing you botched are the four eyes in the front. Those need to be consistent, and I feel they're too lopsided for my tastes. It could be how you photographed it as well, but he looks like he's... squinting.

I just cracked open some basing cork I bought a while back to use as rocks, but they don't look right to me. Do these little pieces read as rocks to you? What else could I use them as if not little rocks?
>>95871532They'll look like rocks once you paint them, don't worry.
>>95871532they look like fresh rubble but not weathered rocks
>>95871560This is what I was thinking. They might look good on an urban base, but I'm probably going to to go with more of a muddy wasteland. I was going to do desert, but I have no dead looking grass tufts to add.
>>95871600the difference between fresh rubble and weathered rocks is sharp edges. Just go over them with a bit of sandpaper to round them up a bit.
>>95871532They work pretty well as rocks once painted, you would need something else if you're going for a boulder

Opinions on the cloak? It's based in Naggaroth Night and highlighted in a mixture of Naggaroth Night and Kakophoni Purple. I also threw a bit of Carroburg Crimson shade over it to try and soften the transition lines. It looks very mediocre to me. I kept getting frustrated that my mixed paint kept over thinning while I kept trying to layer it.
>>95873206Your highlight color needs to be a lot brighter, right now it looks like your midtone is being applied. Depending on whether you want a red leaning or blue leaning purple you could try mixing a light red or light blue to your purple mix to get a highlight color. Won't be as bright as mixing white in and it won't desaturate the purple as much while providing interesting hue.
Have to do some cleaning up on the face, but that's two out of four more or less done.

Very well done btw. There aren't enough cheesecake minis on tables.
How do you all paint your models quickly enough to enjoy them for gaming? I only paint for kill team or blood bowl and it takes me a couple of hours per model to paint because I just canโt paint less than my best. Is lowering expectations the answer?
>>95874441Maybe, but it could also move drying paint and make texture. Put the airflow near the mini but not directly onto it, like a fan blowing a couple hand spans above it.
>>95874441Use a hairdryer on the lowest heat setting

I'm slowly expanding my Servitor horde. I will probably use some desert/dust pigment for their bases and around their feet as someone over at /40kg/ recommended it, and i'm sure it will look good, but i'm also kinda tempted to base them onto grass, and some flowers for the contrast of machine/death and nature/life.

Are tamiya thin cement paints good enough to stick my plastic together or am i suppose to use super glue lol
Happy how they turned out. Only issue is that the powdered pigment tends to get stuck in crevices.
>>95875803Tamiya extra thin isn't paint, it's a plastic specific glue. It welds one piece of plastic to another piece plastic permanently, and only does plastic to plastic.
Superglue is for sticking together everything else, or where you might want to separate the parts later.
>use old Lahmian I got a couple years back

>>95875828I'm a newbie, so is there much of a difference at this stage, when I know my first couple dozen minis would suck?
>>95875840What are you talking about?
>>95875854I was mixing some bright green with Lahmian over a white basecoat for a glowy effect and the expired Lahmian left these shitty soapy bubbles
>>95875842Superglue requires precise application, is easy to fuck up and leaves residue behind.
Tamiya cement is thin and evaporates, so there's no visible residue left behind on a glue seam.
You can melt details if you apply too much, but the bottle comes with a small brush, so it's hard to fuck up if you aren't a total hamhand.
You can also use the cement for other stuff like deliberately melting details, or throwing dissolving plastic offcuts to thicken it up and make a plastic gap filler.
Just get both, watch a video or two and use them as and when you feel appropriate, you'll need one or the other eventually anyway.
>>95875874>>95875840Lahmian medium has an expiry date?
I just made marine juice with it and plan on making some for a good friend come his birthday.
>>95875899Lahmian is shader without pigments.
The old shader recipe stops mixing properly after a couple years, no idea about the new one.
>people say airbrushing makes army painting a joke
I don't really understand how it does this aside from making the primary color faster to paint.
For things like these Ardboyz, how would I leverage my airbrush for the back areas? When do you put down the airbrush and pick up the brushbrush?
>>95869349Are you the anon who made that?
What specific gloss varnish did you use?
LGS sells Ak ultra matte and AK gloss and I'd like to know if those are good for wargaming purposes.
>>95875444looks good. lenses are cute
>>95875842Plastic cement is great, I've only had problems mounting GW's flight stands to bases with it (and the non-thin one at that), and a small pot can do a good many models. Superglue is what you'll definitely use for magnetizing and resin models.
I only use super glue, I find myself replacing arms and shit all the time and plastic glue's strength is only really needed for tiny bits like the head of a spear or something

>>95875969>airbrushing makes army painting a jokeOnly when painting something relatively uniform in color and low in details (such as marines) or vehicles/mechs
For something like your example I think airbrushing wont help that much unless you go for zenithal + contrast/speedpaints
This is probably a stupid question but I figured it's worth an ask.
Is there any material difference between the decals we put on our models and decals used for fingernail art? Is there any reason 8 couldn't use fingernail art decal on my plastic models?
>>95876486>apothecaryThat's a wizard.
>>95875826Deathskulls are best skulls, love the warpaint.
>>95875969Break the problem down into smaller easier problems. Instead of "how would I use the airbrush on this mini" instead ask "would I use the airbrush for this part/color." Using this mini and its colors as an example, the stapes I'd take would be:
>large needle and nozzle for priming>when cleaning the primer out of the airbrush switch to a .3 needle/nozzle for detail>spray the black metal, clean airbrush>spray the brown for the pants, clean>spray the green skin, clean>spray the yellow metal, clean>touch up overspray by brush>the shirt, straps, bandages, and cloth can blocked in afterInstead of trying to spray everything and avoid mistakes I'd just get the large areas blocked in quickly then fix overspray after. The cloth shirt and straps on his back and the loincloth in front can just be done by brush later rather than trying to painstakingly angle the airbrush and try to get everything that way. Its a tool like any other, use it to save to time elsewhere.

>>95876836if you're that annoyed with it you can just mute the video and use the subtitles.
>>95876810If anon had the control necessary to pull off what this guy is doing I don't think he'd be asking for advice on when you should use an airbrush
>>95876550Bump bump bumppp
>>95876830Excellent work for 30 mins anon.
Good job using the dry brush to blend it all together
>>95876855yeah, in that video he uses it for a bunch of small detailing, I posted it because the subject is Orks. In this plague guard one for example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dREkHQiltg0 it's pretty much just setting lights/shadows + mood. The part that needs more controls is when he does the purple detailing on capes, but you can safely incorporate 80% of the airbrushing concepts just doing zenithal with different colors.
If you're interested in oils or contrast painting, going over his channel is really worth it, most of his videos are his usual speedpainting process, but he does instructional stuff too. - Here's one all about oil painting from top to bottom, for example . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3XRwj5l3Eo&
>>95876486I thought FB dwarfs couldn't do magic?
>>95873297I'm going to try laying they whole thing over again. I'm not happy with how it came out. I'll try mixing up way more paint than I should need and try to limit how much water mixes in, since it always keeps thinning on my wet palette. I'm tempted to even paint over with the base again and start over, but at that point the paint my start getting too thick and leaving texture.
>>95876422Looks like it tbqhwyn
>>95873206>>95877043You sound like you're actually trying to improve so I'm going to give you my honest thoughts because it does not look very good.
My first issue would be the color choice, blue and violet/purple can work together but the shades you picked don't do it for me. That's just an opinion though.
Creases and top of the folds have way, and I mean WAY, too little contrast. Try adding some black to your shadow color and brighten up your highlight with bright pink or blue depending on what result you prefer. I think I'd go with pink myself to add some warmth so that it contrasts with your cold blue.
Your transitions are very abrupt, there are places where it doesn't look blended at all. It looks to me like you were glazing which is pretty hard to do properly on larger surfaces like that. My advice would be to layer instead - slowly add you shadow/highlight color to your midtone and build the transitions that way with thin layers. It's a lot easier to get a solid result this way.
>>95877147I wasn't trying to glaze. I think my wet palette was too wet and thinned my paint while I was using it. It's a frequent issue I have desu. Mixing a consistent color is hard with GW pots. I think I'll just go over it all again with Nag Night and start again, hoping that the paint doesn't get too thick on the cape. At that point I'll have to strip the cape with will be a pain.
I was iffy on the purple at first and thought it would make the whole thing too colorful, but it grew on me when I got the base color down.
I doubt myself - I started with "orange brown" over black, now I'm not sure if I should apply flesh wash all over, start going forward with "beige red" or straight to "sunny skintone" and "luminous flesh"?
>>95876550I've seen Imperial Knights with fingernail art decals so I guess it works.
>>95877293>Megumin and Nep mugsOh hey I remember you
So I'm guessing the best way to fix shitty bubbling texture is to put a bit of varnish over it and paint it again?
>>95875874
>>95877214Also sounds like you may have a little bit too much moisture in your brush after washing it, so you're adding a tiny bit of water to your paint mixes each time you go back to the palette until your paint breaks and gets watery. Just to eliminate variables with your paint make sure you're wicking the extra moisture out of your brush onto some paper towels after you wash it.
>>95877509I do, and I test it against my skin to see how much moisture there is. I've heard that the appropriate amount is that you should be able to try a very small line with the water on your hand. Should I be going drier, to the point where it leaves no water on my hand?
>>95877406If its really bothering you you can always take a blade and carefully scrape the bubbles up and slap down more base coat after. Even if you need to go to bare plastic putting a little spot of primer back isn't too much of a issue.

Man it feels unreal painting something that was actually manifactured in pewter and based on my own sculpts
Looks like I "set out to the sun with a hoe", I thought I can pull out doing skin but looks like I failed hard. Absolutely awful. And worse yet, I can't strip it since this model is quite fragile (already snapped arrow once for example) so 40โฌ worth a model went to shit.
>>95878056oil wash!
oil wash!
oil wash!
>>95878056Get a cheapo ultrasonic cleaner and it will strip your model clean in minutes without any manual action from you
>>95878103No, I don't have one and definitely won't buy another stuff, I have whole boxes of paints, washes and such, no more hoarding!
>>95878125Aren't those things dangerous?
Started my Kingsman today. Had some black oil paint on the palette leftover from silly goat, so I did the base first to get rid of it. Now onto the main event.
>>95878134Don't fill it with jet fuel and you'll survive, maybe
>>95878134only if you use something flamable instead of water on it. Some people like using alcohol, because it helps getting the paint off. If there's a leak or a spark, the whole thing goes up in flames.
>>95878125So you agree this shit is not-fixable and only solution is to strip?
>>95878152I've been putting IPA directly into mine for a while and the only thing that happens is the alcohol gets a bit warm after the longer(~5min) cycles
>>95878056If your paint is thin enough, you might be able to get away with starting again. If worse comes to worst, I think you could just let it soak for a day or so and gently rub the excess paint off.
I don't really consider myself better than "alright" at this sort of thing, but I think you should have started with a darker colour and worked your way up. I posted this last week, but I did a similar thing with this model. I fucked up my initial coats by making them too bright, so I slopped a warmer brown over everything and started over.
>>95878218Idk if its unfixable since I avoid painting pinups because female skin hard
But if you feel like youโve ruined it and want to start again, ultrasonic cleaner is an easy way to strip the mini both fast and carefully
>>95877850there needs to be a trenchcoat and hat on the floor next to him, that model is great
>>95878279I fucked up the ass. The shift between the tones is far too harsh. Fixing it is currently on the "to-do" list, but the wife is happy enough with it, so it's not that important.
>>95874678Well, $30. $50 is painter's scale or it's bundled with painter's scale. You can check back on Black Friday for discounted minis (depending how fucked they are from tariffs) if they have any left in stock. Alternatively, check second hand places like Facebook.
>>95878056idk how you think you've ruined it already, just looks like you've basecoated the skin (but noodled around with layering). Just wash it darker, then go slowly with thin glazes/wet blending each area. As an anon said, oil washes would be great since they would provide the soft skin like transitions easily and you could just focus on the midtone to highlight transitions.
If you're worried about the microscopic damage you've done to the texture of the model with your layers then idk.
>>95875372>Anybody who has done 2 part mold casting, is there a mold release you recommend while creating the second half of the mold?I use Smooth-on silicone spray. Dust the mold, then use an acid brush or other sythetic brush to apply a thin even layer. Remember to remove your master model and get the release into the existing mold cavity, and trim off any thin rims standing proud of the cavity's edge as well. If you don't get release inside, it's really easy for a small amount of silicone from the second half to sneak around the side of the master model and leave a big, ugly blob in there.
For casting I use talcum powder, it seems to disrupt the surface tension of both resin and tin to make them flow better, and it doesn't burn. Baby power is no-go for tin, though, it's mostly cornstarch and not talc. Make sure to pop on a dust mask, talc is a cumulative carcinogen and it itches like a bastard if it goes up your nose.
>>95876550>Is there any material difference between the decals we put on our models and decals used for fingernail art? No, they're gelatin impregnated with ink on a paper backer.
>Is there any reason 8 couldn't use fingernail art decal on my plastic models?Nope. Go ahead. It's pretty common in mecha circles already. You can also get decal paper and print your own.
I always wanted this model; picked this "pro-painted" lad up on eBay. Added some highlights and a new base, so now he matches my army.
>>95878450>>95878276>>95878266Thing is, I screw up every soft transition attempt. When I was searching for info, I ran into people using wet palette and thinning to glazing but in my case, when I thin paint to glaze, it rapidly dries on wet palette. Yes, I known it supposed to keep it moistured but no matter what kind of baking paper I use, it's double coated.
Still, before going to stripping I will at least try to fix it a bit then.
>>95878501Either you're using an incredibly scuffed wet palette, or you live in a place that's dry enough to justify owning a humidifier. Get a real wet palette, get a humidifier, or get both.
As a side note, if you're going to strip it anyway, you may as well see what a wash does to it. Darken it down with a wash and see where reapplying some of the layers leaves you.
>>95878553I tried GW "fleshshade" but it would leave "spotted" surface. I think I could borrow some oil paints, mix with white spirit and attempt to make wash out of it but no idea if it would dissolve paint or not since I never did this before.
< 3 hours
I signed up for a big painting competition but i have no idea how to spend more time on my minis
Its just a skill and style i haven't explored
Ive always had most fun painting fast but I also want to get good
>>95878501take it easy anon. Maybe try painting thinly but not glazed on the model with one brush, and then using a wet brush to dilute the paint up to glaze the surrounding areas whilst still wet. Glazing is very temperamental to me and I try to avoid it since I can never get the same consistency of paint every time.
Or try painting layers with shitty harsh transitions, and then wet blending those transitions softer.
Skin is hard and especially female skin because it's so soft. As another anon said starting darker would be easier if you're doing it without relying on washes since skin is at its basic is 3 colors. Dark -> saturated midtone -> desaturated highlight (and then bright highlights and finishing touches).
So you do the dark -> midtone transition and then to highlight without muddying up the hues with mixing the dark with the desaturated highlight. which would look weird. Dark mixing with the desaturated highlight will look grey, like stubble.

So, I went to my parent's house, and look what I've found. Thank god my grubby young me did not manage to cover it with thicc paint like the rest of the stuff from the box. I think this could become a nice jungle diorama.
>>95877850Where is that from?
>>95878682I attempted to do it with those three on black primer, so you say I should rather start with something more dark orange?
>>95878597I'm no comp painter but from what comp painted models I've seen you're lacking in contrasting shades and focused highlights. That is to say your shadows should be lower value contrasting colors to make your intended lighted colors pop and the highlights on the focus point(s) of the model should be higher value than anywhere else on the model (the face, in this case).
>>95878496I actively avoid buying any model advertised as โpro paintedโ
>>95878723It's from the Procession of Morr (inspired by the image in the mordheim rulebook) project from Res Tattica on facebook. This Is One of two rats i was asked to sculpt for It. They sent me the full pewter casted copies of the entire set for the first run. It was a lot of fun to work on It honestly.
>>95878725I would say that some more contrast would be more fun to look at for a mini, maybe it's the lighting but your dark color doesn't look especially dark. And without a wide enough value transition it looks sort of flat. And having it darker would make it easier since getting the volumes sorted would be easier and more visible softer transitons would be obvious
But also looking at it again I think you're overthinking it because the rest of the model is still just black primer, and all your supposed mistakes are standing out in contrast. Honestly it just takes time, simply from the drying time of paint. Nothing's ruined

I'm new to painting but I just finished this. I did it in a single night and while not perfect it looks more than fine from table height. I have a question. What is the best holder to hold minis while painting them. Preferably without there needing to be a base attached because i like adding my bases last
>>95880201Also i forgot to ask, In the Boba Fett picture you can see that the paint looks uneven on his clothes. Idk why it came out like that but i'd like to avoid it going forward. So what did i prevent it?
>>95880201>Preferably without there needing to be a base attachedCork handle and pinning
>>95880138As someone who politely didn't say anything last time because he didn't see a way to fix the cape that is a proper fix, good job.
Opinions on the cape color or the sword? Don't change a thing on the cape, sword runes are crying for an alt. color and the hilt needs some pop
>>95880313Opinion on the rune color. Should've been more specific. Sword's nowhere near done yet. Only the blade is finished. I still need to highlight all the metallics and a few other spots. And the head.
So I got up to this today. I was under the impression that the Kingsman was supposed to be gold, but I took a better look at the original reference and it's just the yellow light coming from the lantern. So I tried doing this true metallic OSL madness. I'm actually satisfied with how it turned out, looks better in person. Not sure if I'll go over it with a brown oil wash, will decide tomorrow.
>>95880548Nice. I also went with a darker metallic for the same reason. If you look on the King's Curse armor cards, you'll see it's a mix of silver with gold trim going on.
Trying to paint my first tank the way I paint for wargaming with a few extra steps.
When in doubt is dark brown a good color for chipping?
Is it recommended to go back to the original color basecoat of the tank color to cover up any possible tidemarks?
And when in doubt what drybrush color is best for creating highlights?

Cool, so this took forever. First attempt at a head and pretty happy. Glad to see all the Illustration/Animation courses I took in art school (that I have rarely ever used in my UI/UX day job) enabled me to paint tiny heads well.

>>95884018This. Stores with opening hours starting 8:30/9:00 are completely out of time. Who is supposed to go there? Neets? Housewifes? Former have no money, later are pretty much a thing of the past.
Here (small ass town in Germany), stores usually close at 20/21:00, but our LGS has 3 "game days" and has open until 23:00, from 16:00, but only opens from 15:30-20:00 on all other days.
(they run an online store too, so they are working full time for sure, but there is just no reason to have someone sit in the store for the occassional kid walking in at 12 after school).

Does anyone have any experience with using smashed porcelain as basing material? I have leftover bathroom floor tiles I could break up and use for rocks, but I don't know how it will break.
>>95885598badly for rocks, better to simulate walls or concrete
you would have to crush it quite a bit to get useful small rocks
you could also crush it all the way to sand-like consistency to use as general basing material
i wouldn't recommend it tho, you can hurt yourself with the shards while you are handling it if you are not careful

Is Aqueous OK for hand painting non-mechs? Do I need to thin my paints more? Is it a skill issue, or should I just buy imported Vallejo or Citidel? I live in Japan so I wanted to do it with Mr. Hobby or Tamiya.

For the horns, to be fair, I had a lot of space to work with and could really spread the gradient the way I wanted. My advice, looking at your work, would be: donโt be afraid to use darker colors to push the contrast, white pops a hundred times more next to black (ehe).

After the corrupt subsector officials refused to supply them with new vehicles and recruits, they more or less went rogue, drafted imperial populations into their ranks and stole equipment (and also killed numbers of pdf), and therefore were declared heretics. They were harrassed and fought imperial forces at some occasions, and it became apparent that drafting all sorts of human dregs into their ranks wasn't such a great idea, because in the common ranks, some warrior cults started to spread. Also the regiments command staff is sometimes rumoured to meet with a huge figure in power armour who serves as a tactical advisor.

>>95892828I donโt know how to answer that question. Iโm sorry anon. I donโt think autism suffices.
Have to leave correcting ivory going around for tomorrow but I hope there is a progress.
>>95892992Good recovery, anon. Fucking up and trying to fix it is part of the experience.
>>95891841>>95892383Whenever I was doing a 40 tag lockout/tagout and required a whole bunch of duct tape "butterflies" I would put them all over my body to resemble some sort of samurai/raider armor.
I also might be retarded
I'd like to revisit this kit and try something new. But the model is already varnished. Should I prime another layer and see where it takes me, just paint on the varnish? Or is it best to accept the burden of regret and leave the model as is?
>>95893370The layers look fairly thin so you could try priming it again I think. Honestly the best way to go about this would be to strip it but I'd imagine stripping a model of this size might be difficult
>>95892992knew you could do it anon
How would you guys paint this scorpion guy? I wanna do a construct theme so I'm thinking obsidian for the scorpion body but the human torso is throwing me off. Maybe do his face/hands in like a dessicated grey?
>>95878266What are the colours you used for base. Mid tone and highlight here?
>>95891679I've had some luck using dark brown texture paste, then laying down short snips of jute twine with some ink toning as straw bedding. After this pic I hit it with grey, brown, and a little stippled black to make it look more weathered. Then I trimmed it back to the edges of the base later
>>95893906For the skin?
>Citadel mournfang brown>Two Thin Coats dark sun yellow>Two Thin Coats Yellow flameDid about a 50/50 mix as I shifted up. The image on the left was the base coat of mournfang with only a single layer of mournfang/dark sun mixed applied over the base.
I may have also used Vallejo's toxic yellow, but I can't recall.
>>95893871If you want a harmonious scheme then you can use a dark purple shadow for both the obsidian and the skin. If you want contrast you can do a purple shadow for the obsidian and a dark green shadow into grey on the skin. Could make the obsidian just black and just do a tint to the skin, lots of ways to take it. What other colors are you using for the rest of his clothes and metals?
>>95894017No green at all? Is that shade of skin just made from using the yellow over that brown? It looks like it's got a hint of green in it?
I will buy those paints and give it a go. The colour on the skin looks great.
>>95894044Well initially I was trying to decide between sandstone and obsidian as most of these guys are supposed to be living statues, but I think sandstone on sand bases would end up looking kinda boring. So I'm thinking obsidian, maybe tinted either purplish or potentially like a greenish blue. Then gold for the metals, dirty ivory/cotton for the wrappings (classic mummy look), and maybe red and blue for some color.
Fairly standard tomb kings scheme. I have a pretty good handle on it save for the scorpion torso throwing me off.
>>95878266what model is this
>>95894114Twin goddess minis, bomb goblin or something like that. His stuff is fun. Does a good job of being a bit lewd without going overboard.
>>95894056No green. The original scale I sketched out for myself had green in it, but I ended up removing it after my initial fuck up in favour of building up from a brown base.
I think I mentioned it in one of the other threads, but I like my goblin skins ranging anywhere in the browns, yellows, oranges, or greens.
>>95894114This anon
>>95894128 has it.
Wife confirmed it was Twin goddess. She got the files off of myminifactory.
>>95894128Too much wash, or not enough going back over the wash with the base color, pooling is bad.

I'm going to make every shield in this army have a funny face, it's really fun
>>95890458and progress on the servitors, just need a few more details and touch ups and they're done
>>95880548I'm done. Pretty happy with the final result, I even managed to do some texturing on the cape. Fun.

>>95890458>>95894546I can never get the hang of painthing the little scribbles on the purity seals, paint just doesn't want to flow off the brush the way I want it to. Good shit anon.
>>95894808I just got my gambler's chest, there'll be plenty of cheesecake in the future.
>>95894825kek
>>95894948Thank you, try and put a gloss coat on the seals, the paint will flow much better and you can wipe it off really easily if you fuck up
>>95894948Mine don't come out nearly that good yet, but my advice is to use your single best brush with the sharpest tip, or just one that you seldom use except for extreme detail work. Thin the paint as normal but test it on your nail or skin to make sure it will flow properly and go ONLY exactly where the point of the brush is.
You do have to be fast because, at least in my case, the tip will dry pretty quickly. My last seals probably would have come out a bit better if I had a bit more patience and worked slower, but they came out decent enough
>>95894627I parked myself at the shop today and got some progress done on the Watcher and 3 of my backlog twilight knights
How do people manage to get models done in a couple of hours or even a single painting session? I've had at least a few 6+ hour long sessions and gotten nowhere near complete with even a single model.
>>95895135>>95895166I see, I see, thank you. Yea, I think my main issue is that I'm just too slow, by the time I start applying strokes with my alzheimers tremor hands the tip of the brush is already dry.
>>95895188you were right, that watcher does look pretty eerie with the purple lanterns.
