The kiss was a product of a few things. First of all Roddenberry was a pus hound and would fuck anything that stopped moving for 2 seconds. Secondly, he truely believed mankind could put aside their differences and work together. He simply didn't know. Idealistic ignorance is not the same as kikery. Lastly I wouldn't be surprised if he was doing it just to fuck with the censors.
