I personally nail that down on the pilot being the pilot and not having the virtue of having all of it's bearings regarding characters and pacing yet, goose has admitted they would like to redo it to improve some of it's parts and visuals because of it

There's this idea that those are rooms from the random doors we see in the pilot but I like the idea that he spawns them out of bounds to play-act while the main plot is going and focus goes back and forth, usually it's just him in there so it's not like he has to run complicated NPCs, them being complex in detail despite barely showing any of it aside of few angles goes with his whole dedication to his craft.
Dude loves to flex his interior decorating along with his 'superb' storytelling now that I think of it (too bad nobody cares)
