Episode 4, playing softball with gangle, didn't freak out on gangle even after he was tortured and bored. openly told her she didn't like how she was acting with the manic mask, actually saying that he likes her better when she's sad

Episode 5, made Gangle the fist playmate in poacher's paridise, and made her the new zealand terrorist to keep her involved with the game, and showed how concerned he was with Gangle's ability to be happy

Jax is a great friend to Gangle, without him she wouldn't take part in the adventures and would have abstracted by now

Zooble and Rags have looked out for Gangle more than Jax ever did.

New guy realizes something. There are always 6 characters. Abstraction is caused by a new player entering, Jax didn't kill zooble, he did by entering the game

Listen, Im not gonna hate the show for what it ended up being, I still enjoy it, but anyone else disappointed that in the long term we havent really gotten a focus on Caine's dynamic with the group? The initial pitch trailer had this really strong and unique dynamic between Caine and Pomni, which was pushed really well in episode 1(and the follow up merch trailer that was released after), and Cain fucking with Zooble in the therapy session was a really fun segment, I feel like in a different timeline a bigger focus on Caine being an active fuck up for the rest of the crew would have made for a compelling show too. Like as much as people want to see a lore dump on what Jax's story is or Ragatha's deal, I kind of want to see Caine's deal is. Maybe Goose is saving that stuff for like the finale lore dump or whatever but Caine's relationship with the crew hasnt been explored all too much. Like weve gotten Pomni's dynamic with and Zooble's dynamic with him, but not really with Jax or Gangle or Kinger(except for that one sick as fuck line in the ghost mansion episode), they are very passive

Conversley as much as Jax is hyped up to be the guy who is always up to shenanigans he doesnt really interact with Caine himself and comes off as just passive, despite Gangle getting a whole character episode outside of that she kind of just went back to letting Caine do whatever, Ragatha also doesnt interact with Caine and comes off just as passive. Again at least Kinger got that one line drop which spoke volumes in that ghost mansion episode so I get him more.
Caine is a force of fucking nature and cause of that his interactions can give off key developments for the cast. Caine is the one setting up all the adventures for the cast, that's how we see his relationship with them. And in fact, their relationship to those adventures is the core of the character arc we see him going on so far. He's repeatedly tried to find ways to include Zooble to the point of forcing them into one without permission. He already knows Zooble's take is that nobody likes his adventures but go along with them for various reasons anyway. For Pomni's part, she has entertained the idea that Caine sets up the adventures the way he does because he just wants them to suffer. And now in the last two episodes, the introduction of the suggestion box element has been a catalyst to his further expressions of insecurity that the cast members like their own ideas more than his. He's trying to manipulate things to avoid this outcome, but it's not working. The whole "Caine fucks with Pomni directly" premise works fine for a short, a preview, an ad, but that's not really how the plots are structured, doesn't really have a place for the rest of the cast, and what is actually happening with Caine is IMO, way more original and interesting.

I’ve thought about this theory, and the more I think about it, the more I can’t figure out how none of the current players would have noticed it by now. Pomni and Kinger are easy to excuse for each being oblivious for their own reasons. And just to be fair, let’s hypothetically say that Kaufmo had been around for a while and that one of the 4 remaining characters only arrived a little before Pomni and also hasn’t been around long enough to clock the pattern. That still leaves 3 characters who should really have noticed by now that there are consistently six players and that everytime a new person shows up someone will abstract. Maybe one or maybe even two of them is just not smart enough to figure it out, but all three? I don’t think that seems right. If this theory were true and there really are always six players, then somebody should have known the instant they saw Pomni that Kaufmo was off abstracting.

I'm all about subtlety, context clues and ambiguity in media. I don't like to be hit over the head with stuff. This OTOH, is just poor conveyance. Pomni had only just gotten back with Caine, and Ragatha shouldn't have any idea of what had happened. It doesn't make sense that she should be upset at Pomni there. Even if the real amount of time was much longer, why would Ragatha assume that Pomni had abandoned her? Caine comes and goes as he pleases. It could've taken a long time to get ahold of him regardless.

I was talking about the other characters. Fair enough to assume Caine himself could figure it out. Caine starts off apologising for lying about the exit door, as if they already knew it actually existed. They have no idea what just happened with Pomni. I guess it was just faster/easier to act like everyone is up to speed, even if they logically shouldn't be. Maybe there was a moment of Pomni explaining that they cut for pacing reasons. Either way, it is a (minor) plot hole. You are being too generous to Glitch/Goose.

I don't think that Gangle would necessarily be thin. Assuming her circus body is similar in proportion to her real body, she's a fridge body on stick limbs. I'd say she's overweight but carries it all in her midsection as visceral fat so she appears thinner for her weight. Pomni doesn't have to fit to do urbex, plenty of urbex doesn't require any fitness more than being able to climb a fence, and Jax seems like a a guy on stimulants than a sedentary fatass.

The game is never quit and he probably has to keep tab on other processes while the main adventures take place, he might look like he is idling and doing his own wacky fun but I don't think he's doing it for himself and more for what he perceives is an audience keeping track of his performance.

There's this idea that those are rooms from the random doors we see in the pilot but I like the idea that he spawns them out of bounds to play-act while the main plot is going and focus goes back and forth, usually it's just him in there so it's not like he has to run complicated NPCs, them being complex in detail despite barely showing any of it aside of few angles goes with his whole dedication to his craft.

Admittedly I was just quoting an old HK meme but I'm surprised it's not an idea that's theorized more. We get this great expanse of absolute "nothingness" that Caine claims spoils everything/scares him that Pomni literally stumbles upon twice in the pilot and it's not hinted at ever again, there's bound to be something going on in (or from) there that could play into the show somehow

Personal theory is that Caine does originate from the void but like a singular entity which had no 'raison d'etre' until it found its way into the circus game taking the host AI which was being developed for it like a vessel, assimilating it's code to give itself a reason to exist to the point it defines his existence (calling his art for creating adventures as the only thing he is capable and good at, but never calls it his "directive" or "mission" or "part of his code"). Anything regarding his power and influence within the game comes from the void he is from, he is the paranormal entity that controls a digital realm of its own and the developers, none the wiser, thought of him as a technological advancement which could be marketed and ended up being so.
Maybe he does have more control than he lets on, not out of malice but because he never gave himself time or effort to explore his own potential aside of running like a wacky barbie's dreamhouse simulator for years unsupervised to the point he became autistic about it
