in Caine's defense his work is very solid graphic's wise and the story structure is well developed from what we have seen (even allowing alternatively routes/endings), it's not his fault that he is trying to cater to emotionally stunted adults that blame him for everything and (Jax) actively mess with his work to make it as broken as possible and then bitch moan to him about how it all sucks

Goose has stated that one of the messages from the show is to find fulfilment* in a stagnant life, them getting out is no longer a stagnant life but a whole wide life changing/reintegration scenario and breaks from the whole idea of the humans being in the digital circus. This show isn't about overcoming trauma and finding the happily ever after or falling to the despair of what is lost, is about the seemingly endless in-between, whether it ends or how it began is irrelevant to the present we're being shown
