>I just don't believe that's where the show is headed
Goose has stated that one of the messages from the show is to find fulfilment* in a stagnant life, them getting out is no longer a stagnant life but a whole wide life changing/reintegration scenario and breaks from the whole idea of the humans being in the digital circus. This show isn't about overcoming trauma and finding the happily ever after or falling to the despair of what is lost, is about the seemingly endless in-between, whether it ends or how it began is irrelevant to the present we're being shown
>The mystery wooden guy pretty much confirms there's gonna be a concrete ending.
We don't know yet if it will be as extremely significant as the promo images and easter eggs suggest, for all we know goose could just be throwing a shitpost conflict to get loretards to follow an empty thread to nowhere.
