The Solver chose Tessa because of the events of the Elliot Manor, and the fact that Tessa invited The Solver (through Cyn) in.
Your complaint and argument that the Solver could have just used any random human and then pretended to be Tessa anyway thus Cynwalker has no point is really dumb and makes no sense.
The Solver used Tessa specifically, in the same way that it originally took Cyn. Cyn was the first Drone it took, Tessa was the first Human that found Cyn and took her home - like (as the Solver later says) a "pet", which is followed along by the repeating themes of being and puppetbof this otherworldly entity.
Yes, part of it is that The Solver is playful, cruel and sadistic. It also exemplifies the Solver's nature as a horrible eldritch entity that only sees others as pets, puppets, or food. Which again goes into the themes talked about above which only works with Tessa - as the Solver tells her it will not discard her just like it told Cyn and speaks about Tessa's other drones as pets.
>"You will not have to discard your pets."
>"And I will not discard you."
Translation:
"I'm going to take your drones as my murder-pets, and I will use your body and never let you go."
You know, there's reasons as to the parallels Tessa has to Cyn such as them having the same hair style, right? Almost like it has purpose and you're coping with the "there's no point for it" talk?
