Liam Vickers' works are innately autistic and that's why they're kino. Liam's got a solidly hooked audience and his style is recognisable. With figures maybe start from the ground up, if possible draw from memory instead if using reference (works for me at least, too much interruption otherwise), only draw things you are enthusiatic about or feel you can do in that moment, you can try forcing drawing if you feel directionless, if nothing takes shape after 10 minutes, leave it be, you'll only make it worse, if that ever happens don't try or think about drawing until you get inspiration naturaly from something.
Idk how you draw or which skill or issues you have, but this is best advice I can give. I didn't try study or learn drawing in theory, rather just drew whatever I liked since 2 or 3 and it developed since then, it is why I am having a hard time with poses and often expressions too. Never drew organic things and by extension humanoids (beyond placeholders) until md, I feel it limits me at times, severely.

The MD Pilot features a lot of Mocap because Murder Drones was Glitch's first show going into their new practice of bringing in an outside creator to be the showrunner and producing their show for them.

Before MD, it was Meta Runner and Sunset Paradise which were showran by Luke and Kevin who own Glitch and run SMG4. Glitch was VERY small back then, and didn't have much money so they relied a lot on mocap.
Which is why when they made the MD pilot, you can see Mocap be used quite a bit despite the visual upgrade compared to say - Metarunner.

The funny thing is they don't even say things that are arguably pretty reasonable. Like that, if the show had more time or enough episodes to do it, Tessa xx8vywcould have been built up a bit more in flashbacks or have the DDs start bonding with "Tessa" again before the rug is pulled out from under them by the Absolute Solver. They have to, like you said, be aggressively contrarian about something that a lot of people say is good such as Cynwalker. The Solver chose Tessa because of the events of the Elliot Manor, and the fact that Tessa invited The Solver (through Cyn) in.
Your complaint and argument that the Solver could have just used any random human and then pretended to be Tessa anyway thus Cynwalker has no point is really dumb and makes no sense.
The Solver used Tessa specifically, in the same way that it originally took Cyn. Cyn was the first Drone it took, Tessa was the first Human that found Cyn and took her home - like (as the Solver later says) a "pet", which is followed along by the repeating themes of being and puppetbof this otherworldly entity.
Yes, part of it is that The Solver is playful, cruel and sadistic. It also exemplifies the Solver's nature as a horrible eldritch entity that only sees others as pets, puppets, or food. Which again goes into the themes talked about above which only works with Tessa - as the Solver tells her it will not discard her just like it told Cyn and speaks about Tessa's other drones as pets.
