The toy line was wild. It was funny. It was cool. It was ninjas. For an eight year old it had everything. The first episodes are excellent. The movie was also A+. To me the toy line, and comic drawings of the turtles, was the most important part.
The newer turtles are either too friendly, too scary (Bay), or not as cool (obsessed with splinters teachings), or too retro (made for middle age).
I don’t follow it, so I don’t know new characters. And when they make a movie, it’s always the origin story and shredder. Or they completely delete what helped make it popular (April). The next mutation is when I dropped it completely.
There is nothing better than the toys and character designs.
