>She doesn't care about being a real do-gooder.
Kit thinks she does.
>idw writers bad
Can't argue that, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna hate an idea before an execution
>What's the difference between Kit starting a fire and some rando doing it?
Kit starting a fire means Surge's efforts aren't as legitimate as she thinks they are. She's literally being duped.
>Being a clone of Sonic and Tails isn't enough to differentiate them especially when the game cast already has enough rivals that are clones of sonic and cast dynamics that replicate that of him and Tails.
It was enough as soon as they got created because the idea was them having a codependency issue where they can't function without the other. Nobody else has a toxic relationship like that in the series.
>She should still find out what Kit is doing and get a little pissed, but after that it can still continue as their dynamic now with her being aware.
I don't think Surge should take a betrayal like that lying down. Kit knows more about their situation and tragedy more than anyone, he knows it firsthand, and still he decides to go above her head and behind her back. That makes her a puppet, even if he didn't think so or realize that, which she doesn't want to be.
>It would also give them an excuse to be around
They never needed an "excuse" to be around. They hate Sonic and Tails and want to see them dead.
>and still have them teeter on the edge of being antagonists rather than outright redeemed.
Making characters with their backstories and then saying they should never be redeemed is one of the dumbest things Ian has ever said/did. I've come to terms with accepting that they can be redeemed or at least be anti-heroes or something.
