I think they forgot, somewhere along the way, why they had the death rule to begin with; which was purely because people back in the day would just argue shit like:
>Oh, Batman would lose to X because Batman isn't willing to kill and wouldn't go all out
It was just a way to show that, despite no-killing codes, everyone was prepared to fight to the death for the purpose of figuring out 'the strongest.' But are we really so enlightened now that such a rule isn't required? I don't think so.
