Fair, I'm having a hard time remembering if there was really was a greentext like that to being with, either. I think shrinking the reptoid a bit would work fine, your last pic kind of reminds me of the daxy more than it should. I'm not sure what else you can do with the design, other than making the eyes or mouth more scary/reptile-like.
