Besides personal preference, I noticed a lot of reworking on the torso to fit the head you drew. I just think it's much easier to fit the head to the body than the other way around.

If you're aware of AI's shortcomings and know how to curate your references, then there's no real problem. A lot of people here talk about poor anatomy and lighting mistakes, but just look at the challenges/refs in these threads (or on the board in general). Most of them have bad lighting, awkward compositions, are photoshopped, or distorted by the camera lens. As long as you avoid using AI écorché images, you won’t develop bad habits from them.
