The thing is, he didn't do a system transfer and tried to conjure up some kind of failure scenario instead of owning up to his incompetence. If you read the guys other comments in the reddit thread, he doesn't even describe how it works properly. There are 2 ways to do the transfer
>All your saves are copied to the ninty servers and the switch 1 is factory reset. You then download it on the switch 2 during setup.
>You transfer locally, copying your saves from the switch 1 to the switch 2. Animal Crossing and Pokemon saves are deleted on switch 1, but your other saves exist on both systems.
