This is looking awesome! About the latex thing, there are lots of tutorials, out there, it's pretty easy, you need two subtle strips of "shine": the white and the grey (mid tone) and that's it. The white strip of light should be more subtle one and it should reflect one light source. In your pic the light source is all over the place. Maybe I can try a re-painting later.

Nice work anon, it's hard to get something finished like this. Congrats. I don't see that big of a gap between levels in this board. The artist pool is small enough to spread it even further.
