That's what I thought to.
But if that was the case throwing something like an impact on the front side would transfer about 1,200 damage to main.
(300 x 4 (reduced by 25% due to the explosive resistance)).
That or stuff like dynamite would transfer 2100, if not double that due to the massive blast radius.
Then it would shorten the amount of shots to kill by 20%+ in the worst scenario.

But when I tested this, it took me exactly the same amount of shots to kill the fleshmob as it did without throwing an impact.
I probably need to do more testing and record some videos, but it doesn't seem like heads properly transfer explosive damage until you pop them.
