a better comparison would be that grafted film as the substance deals more about beauty standards in hollywood and how younger generations fuck over the older generations by not really caring about the older gens
grafted is better because both are about body dysmorphia, they perceive themselves as "ugly" and go through painful transformations to turn into something that barely represents who they really are, because they think everyone looks down on them
it's like an anti-bildungsroman, they have the potential to turn into something better, but the circumstances that they are surrounded with have a negative effect turning them into something much worse by the end of it
one of them, of course, does it marvelously by recontextualizing an old fairy tale that the majority of people already know about while the other one is more culture specific ostracizing a large part of the audience who won't understand that aspect of the story, or at least not on the same level as those who grew up in that kind of culture
