Sekiro is a perfect example of what the anon was saying. Its so much better at doing a "more straightforward railroaded action game" than the typical souls-clone or dark souls 3. It freed itself from all that souls had of poorly compatible with railroaded games, and actually set out to be its own unique game with its own features and gimmicks
It doesnt matter if they add a shallow version of deflects from Sekiro, a linear souls clone will always be much closer to a linear dark souls clone, rather than being akin to sekiro
