Front shields were for the flat damage reduction, and since the AM blasters are all front facing arcs, it made sense to me. The rest of the small slots don't have the arc needed. I could swap out the Paladins for Autopulse easy but Paladins do double-duty as PD and to keep pressure up. The Auroras are just SO shield tanks with three Heavy Blasters and Sabot spam, not optimal but they're what I could throw together at campaign start since I don't have industry to build stuff yet. I'll get around to making them not sub-optimal.
