Yeah, but it's Pokemon, which I think unironically benefits from being a roguelike. Think about it, Pokemon games suck because they are extremely linear, have a lot of needless freedom with endless choices that ultimately don't matter, have a really boring story that is constantly rearing its ugly head, and are too padded out. A roguelike can fix all that.
