They all were but they like to be called nations. It makes their claim that the land was stolen sound more legit. They never had boarders, they just ran wild from cannibal tribes and waged random wars when encountering eachother. It was a total shit show. But Mexicans hadn't conquered them and we did. And now if we're going to "make things right" that least of all requires giving it to some rich Asians, or inviting millions of brown people to live on it.
