I mean, you could argue that Europeans not only have a higher population concentrated on a smaller geographical zone. But they are also closer to Asians so they can play with them at a relative good ping and that helps the competition and improvement A LOT
But for some reason, this doesn't apply tho Canada as it does for USA. So at the end I got to the conclusion that it's insane how bad the average American is at competitive vidya. Canada despite having a population way lower still has a way higher pro-play per capita. In LoL you can see it quite much.
Also, something I noticed. It's VERY rare to see a white American being pro. Like 90% of the time their best pros are Asians. You can also see this in League.
This is the AoE2 chart of players from 2024 when it comes to pvp. USA has the highest amount of players BY FAR. And guess how many pros they have in the top 50? 1, and not only that, but guess what? HE IS ASIAN AND SPEAKS CHINESE
Canada on the other hand has the best AoE player in current time. But also has a like 4 more players in the top 50
I really don't know what causes this, but it really grabbed my attention
