They are simply gatekeeping clubs meant to increase your social circle and networking opportunity and give you the opportunity to meet like-minded people. In my college, blood-money children of Chinese Communists attended and drove in with their Mclarens and Ferrari to study Chemistry 1 courses. They never needed college to survive. There are no real corporate jobs in the USA today either.
