How I see late 80s Japanese PC simulation games is probably how others see SNES games.
Remember they were attractive since they did something NEW. For a PC-98 adventure game, that would be an indepth story, detailed still images, music, and options. A hex strategy game would tell this grand campaign through simple graphics.
None of these are very novel today. So when you play them you can only see the flaws.
I can really appreciate some of the games before my time, like Wizardry 1, Daisenryaku, etc. Basially I started with consoles, so these PC games from the 80s are a bit too much for me. But if I were 6 when these came out I'd think they'd be the coolest.
