Okay look at this fucking mess... look how many fucking games no one fucking cared about from Capcom... they couldn't stop shitting SF games and the only time people cared was the arcade X-Men one because that shit was tight at the arcade. At home it was barely a thing.
Capcom couldn't help shovelwaring their best fighting game so much that people got tired of that shit... it was fucking ridiculous. And unlike you GenA babbies.... we didn't pre-order that shit... we let it fucking die.... largely because most people barely knew what the internet was and it wasn't something you'd typically do barring FF7's crazy marketing.
Like nothing touches SF2... but also... outside of the shit no one cares. Everyone knows cammy from porn - but she's not even considered a proper OG character because OG's didn't give a fuck about the New Challengers shit. It was considered a fucking joke tacking on random ass extra characters to the same game to resell to people for the fifth time in two years and no one was fucking buying who already had SF2... which was everyone. SO ironically... despite coming out so early... Cammy is more of a 'modern' character if anything and is more popular with newer street fighter than older street fighter outside of the niche hardcore fighting scene... no one fucking knows who the fuck T.Hawk. I couldn't find you a single old gamer I know who could tell you what the fuck a Fei-Long and Dee Jay is. No one knows them or how to play them or that they exist. All people know about Cammy is dat ass, and it's more prevalent from again shit like SF4 and SFV now more than anything outside of porn based on spritesheets.
