The fact picrel shares a spot on the toxic card list with Rhystic Study kinda shows the mentality a lot of EDH players have where they actually want to play show-and-tell rather than a multiplayer game.
It's just that EDH players are generally all new (read: bad) players so it results in a bad combination of very rigid expectations without any knowledge of even basic counterplay against many strategies, which results in a lot of complaining.
