Literally all the other text on it is irrelevant. It's very good.
Ureni the Unwritten is sooooooooo incredibly good. Getting it out with Miirym on the field, along with a copy of Miirym thanks to Deceptive Frostkite? Fuck me, I already have a handful of dragons on the board and now I just looked at the top 24 cards of my deck and threw fucking earthquake dragon, keiga the tide star, and hammerhead tyrant down for free (along with two extra fucking copies of each!) And because I'm playing Temur I already have them all set up for haste, so on attack I search for three more dragons and throw out Atarka World Render, Savage Ventmaw, and Broodcaller Scourge (along with TWO EXTRA COPIES OF EACH!) and now I'm just throwing permanent I have in my hand on the field for free cause Iโm sending six dragons with double strike at each player? What's a good/fun Commander to play a ton of bounce spells and things like Cowardice?
I don't understand why people continue to run these terrible cards. They just sit there waiting to get blown up by a stray Vandalblast and they don't do anything explosive if you draw them late. You need to cut all your ramp in favor of better cards like Gilded Lotus that do more than just produce 1 mana.

>>96232934I find the shitposting around it genuinely funny. Honestly more fun than actually playing the game (because playing the game largely consists of people whining about whoever won).
He's just standing there, menacingly...
>>96232939Impossible. This literally never happens because your deck should be a generic goodstuff pile that doesn't rely on the commander. If you're recasting your commander you're just overpaying for a card, making it not worth it.
Anyone here play outbreaker? is it fun or is it just insanely broken with tutors.
>>96232964Oathbreaker has two major issues:
>The planeswalker in the command zone encouraging extremely passive play>The instant/sorcery in the command zone encouraging you to do a stupid combo with the ability to reuse it infinitelyNow if you're paying close attention, you'll notice that both of these issues are the centerpieces of Oathbreaker.
>>96232930>I'm saying something I honestly don't believe just for clicks

>>96232974I feel like it could be nice shuffling a 58 card deck instead of a huge 99-98 pile of bullshit. >>96233025>>96233033Vintage is a format where you will cast 2+ spells on the first turn very consistently, turning it off in the process effectively making it a cantrip.
EDH has the near-opposite issue where because most people play it in a way based on fucking around for the first 5 turns, chances are it will draw 6+ cards.
>>96232996>>96233005to be fair serialized cards are the new unspoken reserve list.

>>96232991The problems run deeper than just tutors. I'll use picrel as an example because while it's not as good as real Oathbreaker combos (which are generally a cheap walker and a spell that wins the game), I think it illustrates the point more concisely.
You have an oathbreaker that will just tick up every turn until they press their "I win" button, and their signature spell is a tool that makes it extremely difficult to contest this on the board. It's not a particularly fun play pattern because if you look at the enemy command zone you already have 90% of the game played out.

>>96233053What does this even mean
>>96233177>It's a giant ponzi scheme.Citation needed.
>>96233186How do they reprinting serialized cards without destroying brand reputation?
>>96233113Probably not. Once the One Of gets cracked the buying fever stops and nobody buys packs to just hold onto them forever (increasing artificial scarcity while driving up box prices) because everyone knows there's no chance of finding it.
Serializing however has a similar effect on normieshits and encourages far more buying and hoarding.
>>96233188Common sense and seeing that little to none of these listings actually sell doesn't need citing.
>>96233188It's different completely though because the card still gets reprinted, the serialized card just doesn't. Blood crypt is not an expensive card.
The issue with the reserved list is locking mechanically unique cards , that's not what's happening here. Serialization is just an attempt for them to get people to give a shit about the game and to bait whales into spending $ in packs. Nobody actually cares about them.
And as others have said these listings never sell. It's not either a ponzi scheme or it's massive speculation

>>96233239The fact picrel shares a spot on the toxic card list with Rhystic Study kinda shows the mentality a lot of EDH players have where they actually want to play show-and-tell rather than a multiplayer game.
It's just that EDH players are generally all new (read: bad) players so it results in a bad combination of very rigid expectations without any knowledge of even basic counterplay against many strategies, which results in a lot of complaining.

Anyone ever say "fuck it" and try out chatGPT to build a deck? I've had the beginnings of a Celes Combo list for awhile, but just couldn't figure out what the real meat needed to be, besides the obvious Persis creatures. Ended up asking the bot to make a deck, and, after cleaning up ~12 cards, its actually not a horrible list. Needs some serious optimizing, but, for a list to proxy out for testing? not bad.
>>96233303It's usually built out of older cards and has some flaws. Unfortunately I still rate it above a lot of EDHtuber "deck fixing" advice which should tell you everything when ChatGPT will often name cards that don't exist or make nonsensical manabases.

>>96233303>>96233309Just reviewed the deck and, very unfortunately, it is still better than a lot of human-made decks I see.
Main issue is obviously it's very good at putting creatures into the graveyard then not so good at getting them out (which should be the larger focus of the 99 given that the commander puts them there for you). Impact Tremors/Warleader's Call are very greedy picks since their exact use-case is when you already have a GY loop established (i.e. you are already winning).
Not really sure why I'm going over all this since you probably recognize these issues too, but it really is better than a human-made deck because I'd probably see a ton more winmore cards and shit that literally doesn't work like attempts at reanimating tokens.

>>96233359Entire event was a humiliation ritual for everyone involved - legends pointlessly killed off for drama, planeswalkers desparked (This is a good thing however), phyrexians cartoonishly jobbed.
>>96233348yeah. cleaning it up will 100% be more recursion and searching to get to (ideally) Redcap, or an engine like Blasting/Altar+Persist. I wonder if sticking to the current ratios, and instead upping the quality of cards would be a good point to start? Like, swapping out the greedy enchantments for more grindy/control ones like Smothering Tithe or Ghostly Prison. And I 100% need some actual interaction, that isn't that fucking REB, especially when Tibalt's Trickery is RIGHT THERE.

Jace and Vraska were the bullshit one, but it at least made sense when you remember it was ALSO a super-surgery, and the mental bullshit Jace pulled was nothing compared to his long list of asspulls and plans.
>>96232936only thing holding them back is that they made a legally questionable assertion of maintaining the value of the cards by not reprinting them in any way except gimmick not legal versions or "premium". They didn't understand marketing or retail products enough to realize how fucking retarded that was in 1996. Still they had a loophole but then double downed on it like retards in 2010 when they still had a window to avoid some turbo autist lawsuit because premium was workable enough for limited once only drops like the From the Vault was doing in 2010 with relics. If they held firm they would be able to drop reserve list cards in secret lairs as the random drop and then increase the price even more. My hot take is to ban farewell. The card just wastes so much time and always just resets the game. Instead of being a one sided wipe, it is weirdly frequently used as a tool by pubstompers as a tutor target. The mass exile wrecks lower power decks without any hope to rebuild. It adds an hour to games at points. Itโs not good enough for cEDH and ruins casual games.

When I traded in my foil Mirrodin Green Sun Zenith, Market was ~$120. Actual listed was in the 80s for NM. So, got about $60 for it.

>>96237342It's definitely going to be a big miscalculation. Capeshit exhaustion is finally hitting normies. End Game was almost 10 fucking years ago.
