Why are the Endless so important if we already know that having the Echo and making your soul strong enough already makes you immortal without needing to eat an entire planet's amount of aether every year

Why doesn't calyx just copy the tech that let Zenos get the echo, give everyone he can the resonance, and then make them kill themselves to release their souls into new bodies or robots or whatever
