The patch story wasn't bad, but it had to do a lot of catch up to get the story to a proper ending point after 7.0 and 7.1 were just so bad.

## Patch 7.3 Status - We're Still Working

Hi all! It's been a little bit of time, so I thought it prudent to provide a quick status update on Dalamud.

Thanks to the very dedicated work of the volunteers reverse engineering the patch, we managed to get the core functionality of Dalamud back online. As we've discussed in prior patches, this is a critical milestone since it allows the developers of large and/or complex plugins to start to rapidly accelerate their own research. We've already seen a number of fixes that were a direct result of this, and more are coming in as time permits. Unfortunately, however, Dalamud's API is not yet in a stable state. We are still finding significant breakage in various areas, and, as such, have not yet been able to finalize API version 13. We are not at a place where plugins can start updating in earnest, but we are getting there at a decent pace.

Pattch 7.3, overall, has not been that problematic from a research perspective. Most of the delay in this case is coming from the fact that Dalamud has grown significantly and our knowledge and understanding of the game has grown alongside it. To put simply: the more we know and document, the more that needs to be updated with every patch, and the more systems need to be checked in depth. While Dalamud is no longer crashing every 30 seconds (yay!), many game systems are still reporting invalid or unexpected data.

We're trying as hard as we can to get the API surface stabilized as quickly as possible, which will in turn lead the way to the start of the private beta test. We thank everyone for their patience while we continue chipping away at the update.
