Was anyone waiting with baited breath to see if my LED conversion worked out? I have good news which is that it did. I got all the OEM blinkers installed, and the dash lights and the blinkers are all amber leds. They are extremely bright and look great.
Something interesting I encountered was that the turn signal indicator light ran its current in opposite directions depending on which blinker is blinking. So when I stuck the LED in one way, it would only flash with the left blinker, but if I turned it around it would only flash with the right blinker. Luckily I had a diode assortment and I just soldered a couple together into a makeshift rectifier then tapped the output into the ground from the hibeam indicator so it could blink both ways. I have no fucking clue if this is normal though.
This exercise also gave me an excuse to buy a wireless soldering iron because my butane powered one was pissing me off. I have to say guys, the battery technology for that shit is finally here. If you don't have a battery powered soldering iron just get one.
