Yea I feel you. I used to pour my soul into traditional art, but the second I dropped some AI gens, the artist circlejerks turned on me hard. Got mocked, unfollowed, canceled overnight bzzap! lightspeed betrayal, no more jokes or memes. How am I supposed to keep up with these semipro gatekeepers and their horsefamous cliques? I cant churn out hyper-detailed digital paintings with cinematic lighting on their impossible schedules, every pro use semiAI filters or literal schizo stuff for these more than I would with AI anyways. The fandom become a toxic mess, those artists I idolized? Total sellouts, more interested in clout than creativity.
But the AI art scene? Its a breath of fresh air. So many of us there who started with traditional and digital got burned by the same bullshit. They welcomed me, no elitist gatekeeping, just open-minded vibes. Generating art feels liberating, like I am reclaiming my passion from the commercial grind. This fandom can keep their corporate circlejerk. I'm done with their capitalist, tradition nonsense. Here’s to creating for the love of it, not their approval.
