I have never stepped foot in a blockbuster, because we didn't have them in my region. We had VHS rental stores, but they were privately owned and were not chains. If I am not familiar with blockbuster's policies vs privately owned VHS rental stores then that's on me for growing up in a rural area. We used to be able to rent things for a fee, get part of the fee back upon return, or buy the item at a discount had we previously rented it.
