It's either that, read customer reviews that I always find hit or miss (e.g. if they say it's hard, it's because their balls didn't drop) or look up youtube playthroughs/review.
Some of you guys are making fun/critiquing his purchasing choices, which prompts the question of most modern games suck balls anyways, and participating in them is a mistake.
The real issue is that here should be a trial period. Make it a service or whatever: you play for an hour or two, game boots you out, you're asked if you like it, and if so you gotta pay for it. That can help me make inform decisions.
