No, she is the Mother of Jesus. There have been far too many testimonies of people experiencing miracles by asking Mary to pray for them. My own mom actually experienced a certain miracle herself when she was in sorrow and prayed to her - she wasn't even a Christian at the time. It's because of these reasons that I know that praying to Mary is justifiable.
