Spoilers: In the career mode she eventually reveals to you that she has a condition that may make her legs give in permanently, so she initially started training with you to gather data during races so she'd have enough to go off of once she became disabled to help and experiment on other umas, but decides halfway after winning a couple of big races that because you have so much faith in her (and prove it by making her win many goal races) that she can get all that data by racing herself and that she can in fact become a great uma musume despite her impending condition.

Knowing this, having had a couple of races where she was the 6th-8th favorite during the career mode and absolutely destroying other umas like Silence Suzuka at the end of the race and getting 1st made me realize this game is, in fact, peak
