It won't if rune has 2pp on the field immediately, or they get rush shigikami / golem. If they don't however it's a big problem for rune. Against other crafts if early mainyu pays off, it's more of being lucky. Tigers are better start usually. Though there's sometimes sword retards that just ignore mainyu and go face.
