Also you're talking about residuals, not royalties. And you can't stop paying someone residuals (or royalties) by lightly re-editing a movie 20 years after the fact, that's not how residuals work. Oh, and film editors aren't entilted to residuals anyway meaning whoever created this dumb myth has no idea how the film industry works.
