People in the industry tried REALLY hard to browbeat disaffected nerds into being leftist foot soldiers, but those nerds liked what Steve Bannon had to say a lot more and he got to them with Gamergate and Milo Yiannopoulos. They couldn't leave well enough alone and now gaming is basically the bleeding edge of internet political discourse. As of the past few years leftists have been losing on that front HARD with mass layoffs, numerous high profile flops full of pozzed shit like Dragon Age Veilguard and Concord that cost a quarter billion dollars to make, and chuds dominating the narrative.
