could be worse
>work in government
>get email from leadership about how some streamed event went ever-so-poorly and asking what can be done better next time
>send a tl;dr e-mail (already pared down after running it by another enthusiast more familiar with private corpo hell world) about what can be done with what I literally have right then, what can be done with spending less than 100$, what can be done if I can get Capital C Capital for it
>get no response
>something else has to be streamed or otherwise there's some event that has a goofy one-off achievable but non-standard requirement
>it goes badly again
>the cycle begins anew
though i guess i did cry deeply enough or scream loudly enough at some point that now there's a rule that guests have to specify exactly what they want and preferably provide a full program before borrowing our space. of course the building manager who schedules these things instead of me who actually schleps around and sets it up is the one who gets a coin, a BZ, and a promotion.

are you a tech, or even just a local friendly face for fix-it stuff? if it's literally your job to deal with that then ofc they're emailing you; they dont think you're messing with it, you're just the only point of contact they know. and if you're just the guy that tends to help, in any organization there's a proclivity to ask who you know before submitting a ticket. it usually gets resolved faster, and honestly, the people who already know eachother tend to do better work for eachother. even as glorified hell desk myself, there's a certain measure of "You didn't hear this from me, but..." for users I don't hate.
