AI is not a person and can not be held reliable for anything. You can fire a person who fucks things up, you can't fix an AI program that does.

Not to mention, AI could keep you in loops forever if it screws up, give patently wrong information, and has a much easier time of making things up. Would you want to pick up a ticket where someone worked with an AI program for an hour? Who knows what they were told, what they tried, etc. At least with another human you can ask questions and they'll remember

What's going to really decide the future of AI here is the first time it's brought into a legal case. When someone sues a company because they were told by what they could assume was a human "Your car is under warranty and won't cost you a dollar", and then they bring it in to be told "No, that was wrong, and here's the bill", the ruling on that will kill it dead or help it beyond a reasonable level.

If a judge rules anything that Matt Beaver Chevrolet's AI says is going to be held against them, and they have to accept what it tells consumers, it's going to be shut down immediately. If it rules the company can not be held accountable for anything the AI says, it's going to take over in a matter of days

Sure but that's just for support. It's probably going to get to the point where it replaces a junior programmer, and it'll be a really bad junior but it'll be very cheap so you'll be forced to put up with it (again, like you're forced to deal with jeets).
And in other industries

If you hate jeets in big tech, you should know that their time is ticking before they're considered a security threat to hire (similar to how Chinese ultimately became that).

Israel basically pwned Iranian airgaps by forcing a full-stack betrayal bleed: 25 years of RAW-Mossad wetware riding India's labor API now broadcasting SIGINT cancer across every Gulf node. That 'innocent' diaspora? Wasn't a bug, it was the ultimate RAT firmware.

Mossad wrote rootkits, RAW compiled human .dlls, and TCS/Wipro containers shipped the poisoned dependencies.

Now the compile fails hard: Tehran's OPSEC dumps show Indian techs as meat-based backdoors, Qatar firewalls flagged L&T binaries as Trojan payloads, and GCC states are purging all desi packages. New Delhi's consular screams just confirm the pwn log.

they arent going to make any meaningful changes. the people with the power to make anything happen in this regard will stall as long as absolutely possible and claim they cant do anything because theres not enough talent in the US labor pool.

theres gigantic breaches in major companies every other week causing millions of dollars of damages, and literally 30% of our domestic workforce is indian. wow i wonder why thats happening? not even counting offshoring either.

its so ridiculous you have to wonder if theres some sort of state collusion already to make the situation as bad as it is.

there is, it's called the H1B Visa program

the reason this happens
>consoomers are retarded goy cattle who don't actually care if the product they consoom is any good
>jeets (and soon AI as proooompted by jeets) can make/maintain these products at lower cost than actual humans and are willing to work in inhumane conditions
>execs and managers aren't rewarded for making good, lasting products; they are rewarded for quarter-to-quarter financial performance, and reducing employee overhead instead of making more popular/higher profit margin products it is easiest to "boost KPIs" to just fire everyone and replace them with 9 iq retards using free tiers of chatgpt

I can't tell if it's the burn out or if the ways he's doing things is extremely fucking dumb. One thing we're doing is duplicating data so we have historical data since our software overwrites the old information with the new information even if it doesn't make sense. Did anyone bitch? Did audit have a shit fit? Nope. He just thinks it'll be an issue in the future. I have the biggest what the fuck are we doing almost everytime he talks. Either everyone that greenlighted this project is part of a scam or they are all retarded. It is so soul crushing the work at such a place but the pay and benefits are great

I was looking up body armour for job and salt unrelated reasons and TIL that apparently there's some cybersec library cert thing called ESAPI

There is no way it wasn't on purpose that techbros called their dogshit java library for encrapting messages spat out by and for java applets(idk its own site does not include an elevator pitch) the exact same thing as (anti-)rifle plates. Their SEO is on point (and I only learned of it because the top page of results were this software thing instead of ceramic armor plates) and the plates predate the library by 15 years and just have the misfortune of not being a trademark because it's a military specification and not an individual product.

Why are techbros like this? Why are techbros so obsessed with appearing "tactical"?

are you a tech, or even just a local friendly face for fix-it stuff? if it's literally your job to deal with that then ofc they're emailing you; they dont think you're messing with it, you're just the only point of contact they know. and if you're just the guy that tends to help, in any organization there's a proclivity to ask who you know before submitting a ticket. it usually gets resolved faster, and honestly, the people who already know eachother tend to do better work for eachother. even as glorified hell desk myself, there's a certain measure of "You didn't hear this from me, but..." for users I don't hate.

LUSERS are just that; but as a wide pool of "computer people" we're here to make it easier for others to do their actual work. Even actual end products that are themselves true work, we're here to write the models and scripts to access them, not generate new useful data ourselves.

If you don't like being demoted to helpdesk, stop helping LUSERs. Be firm and tell them that it's not your job. If you still feel nice after that, maybe keep the contact info for who actually is and tell them to flood that mailbox instead.

His tic is literally screaming "I dont KNOW i don't KNOW" and then making this bizarre moaning, almost retching noise noise like he's about to throw up. Most of the time, absolutely no one looks at him and I learned really quickly that this is the resident tourrettes autist tic guy

But like once or twice a day he has a tic that is so loud and aggressive you just cannot ignore the fact that there's a retarded man having a very loud breakdown in the coworking space that we all pay a couple hundred bucks a month for

the actual non-meme answer for people who aren't coomers or are incapable of working near where their video games are is they generally have faster wifi and comfier furniture than you would at home, and you can borrow certain equipment you might not have wanted to buy yourself 10 years ago (high end headsets, good webcams, etc). many locations also have an on-site cafeteria or at least a cafe, but they have office furniture including sound-dampening dividers and shit so it's easier to work from than just hitting up starbucks.

these days they've pivoted more to what convention centers used to do -- the idea now is to cater to startups that dont have a physical office but still need a boardroom for meetings/conferences. some non WeWorkโ„ข equivalents are straight up just timeshares but for offices instead of vacation homes so you even get to store stuff there.

SSL has nothing to do with networking though. I mean yeah, it's often used together with networking, but in the eyes of a tech hiring manager networking and security/cryptography are basically 2 orthogonal areas. In any case evidently the hiring manager was smart to ask that question, because you did basically the absolute bare minimum having to do with SSL, what you mentioned is hardly even a skill worth putting on your resume so he basically just exposed you putting fancy words on your resume to sound more valuable than you are

This is why I'm full schizo with interviews, I always plan ahead thinking about what to say regarding everything. Every single tiny bit of info that could possibly be used against me. Then I instantly provide a good enough answer, which makes the HR guy feel that I'm very dependable and prepared. Never failed. All I have to do is get to the interview if that happens, I'm in.

can't so trades wirhout taking a 2 yeaes degree + 1 year combined with an apprenticeship.
Can't coast in tech withiout a vagina or a shit skin, instead you get 80 hour workweeks and ger fired on the spot for asking for raises 6 months in, making you unemployable for the rest of time because you must be flaky lazy and terrible for not being at the same company for 2 years. You have never had a tech job.

I think I got lucky. They wanted someone who had a combination of low level knowledge and high level software development practices experience (CI/CD, pull requests to integrate code, etc), so they are willing to put up with me not having embedded job experience

I do have to eat a shit sandwich to make this change though: i go from full remote to 3 days in the office each week, and the pay is okay but not great.

If you want this change, i recommend looking for entry level roles and write an email to the boss directly, rather than just applying on linkedin. You could consider startups as well, they tend to ask for less experience

There actually was a guy who tried to break into the medical industry a few years back with a med-prescribing bot he designed to make doctors' jobs easier. He shopped it around at different hospitals and doctor's offices before realizing, to his horror, that most medical professionals simply memorize a big ass list of common medications and the ailments they're used to treat. In other words, he spent years developing a platform that nobody wanted all because he designed it for an industry he knew nothing about.

2021: major worker shortage as post COVID ZIRP policies fuel a spending spree by big tech on hiring, also mass transition to remote
2022: sudden hawkish economic policy causes abrupt pivot, layoffs begin, companies realize full remote means they can just hire cheap Indians
2023: layoffs accelerate, outsourcing to India/South Asia accelerates, at the same time new CS grads and bootcampers flood the industry as they started school while tech was in a "severe jobs shortage", causing a double whammy of labor glut and jobs shortage
2024-now: market is now stagnating in a position of coldness with too many junior level engineers and not enough domestic jobs

Nothing about the current dynamic makes any sense at all. It's just short sighted greed. They WANT to work their way to laying off seniors as well, it's just that for now they are mass outsourcing junior/entry level roles and hoping the seniors train them well enough to replace them too. Don't get it twisted, they want to lay every single American/European off, they're just making their way up the chain.

Let me paint a picture. You move with her. That means she knows she can do anything and you'll listen. She will cheat on you. She will make your life at home more miserable than it already is. The kids will even resent you. And most of all, she CAN and WILL divorce you cause she has the advantage.

Do not be a fool! Do not move cause she is moving! Do not give up your job because of her! You will look back on my post lost in the archives and you'll say

To "optimize costs". For now there few Indians in the company and none in the management.
I earn 105k in goymoney so it's understandable that the management wants to have cheap monkeys. My coworkers are not the brightest but at least they can program. I've heard horror stories from friends in other companies like: an Indian woman that takes sick leave every 2 weeks and cannot solve any tickets by herself or a junior that uses chatGPT to solve everything (and it doesn't work, obviously).

You won't find more success on linkedin anyway, market is totally fucked. There are literally millions of laid off fagman ex-workers competing with you right now, for fewer open positions than there were in 2020. Just a couple weeks ago another few thousands were added to the pool, and intel is expected to dump 25% of its workforce soon just to name a few. Get me ooooooooooooooooooout
>Working on some feature for a client
>Goes into business testing phase a few weeks ago
>Radio silence from the testers
>Pajeet manager keeps asking me about the project status despite saying it is blocked awaiting their approval
>Says he'll do the needful to figure out the status with business
>Today: notified by <business person> that he's doing a demo now and the env doesn't work
>Test env is broken because I stopped maintaining that branch to do other things
>Ask <business person> if the jeet ever inquired about the status of the testing
>"Uh no he didn't, but I rescheduled the demo for early next week so we're good now"
This guy still hasn't realized that the jeet does absolutely nothing and that these fire drills are preventable if he just "did the needful". I've exposed this jeet several times at several different org levels but they're all too stupid to put one and two together. We aren't even jeet'd as an org, it is just incompetence all the way up the chain.

le based trump wont do anything about h1b. he should downsize the program massively. its crazy almost half of all domestic engineers are indians. policy makers are asleep at the wheel allowing shit like that to happen. 40% of domestic engineers being citizens of a foreign, non allied country is so retarded it has to be some sort of intentional self sabotage.

imagine how good the job market would be if he just forced 15% of those jobs to hire US citizens like theyre supposed to. who are we kidding though we need 100k indians with fake experience trained by durgasoft to maintain everything. theres just no americans capable of such incredible feats programming like leaking our data every other week

It is really funny because any decision will upset the other side. Allowing more jeets makes the capitalists happy but upsets the racists. Sending the jeets packing makes the racists happy but upsets the capitalists. I'm having fun watching it unfold because I still have my job but it must suck for everyone else getting jeet'd.

my brother in Christ the cat is out of the bag already, we have open source models everywhere, even I a complete retard have them in my computer and I can fill them with all my retardation.
aren't you guys abusing AI for everything? I can get so much shit done now I'm happy I didn't hire a couple of software developers last year as I planned to. Claude+Cursor and you can do decent code with the right prompts. Back in the day I would have an idea and take days or weeks to deploy, now I can do in two days.

and yes, corporate girl boss jobs are in danger of being eliminated real soon. i don't see any reason these companies will keep these if we really go into a recession.
