Should i message a recruiter even though they weren't listed on the job posting?
A position opened up where I really want to work at and even though I applied pretty early I'm afraid of getting looked over
I don't even know what to message them. "Hey I saw this posting that I am a strong candidate for, can I learn more about *company*?"
I'm over thinking this but I REALLY need this job
Help
>>105623359They're still hiring and outsourcing to jeets despite being provably shit, what makes you think AI would be any different?

>>105623393AI is not a person and can not be held reliable for anything. You can fire a person who fucks things up, you can't fix an AI program that does.
Not to mention, AI could keep you in loops forever if it screws up, give patently wrong information, and has a much easier time of making things up. Would you want to pick up a ticket where someone worked with an AI program for an hour? Who knows what they were told, what they tried, etc. At least with another human you can ask questions and they'll remember
>>105623410>Would you want toYou don't get a choice in the matter, the boss has decided it'll save $X so you have to deal with it.
>>105623425What's going to really decide the future of AI here is the first time it's brought into a legal case. When someone sues a company because they were told by what they could assume was a human "Your car is under warranty and won't cost you a dollar", and then they bring it in to be told "No, that was wrong, and here's the bill", the ruling on that will kill it dead or help it beyond a reasonable level.
If a judge rules anything that Matt Beaver Chevrolet's AI says is going to be held against them, and they have to accept what it tells consumers, it's going to be shut down immediately. If it rules the company can not be held accountable for anything the AI says, it's going to take over in a matter of days
You know the funny thing is, of all typical corporate work, software engineer is one of the hardest to outsource to AI. All pretty ironic.
>>105623188Literally me but with black metal
>>105623454Sure but that's just for support. It's probably going to get to the point where it replaces a junior programmer, and it'll be a really bad junior but it'll be very cheap so you'll be forced to put up with it (again, like you're forced to deal with jeets).
And in other industries
>Automated cars are safer than humans :^)>So the lawyer using the AI gave you wrong information, it's the lawyer's fault for not double checking>This patient was accidentally given the wrong meds, according to our well paid lawyers it's statistically less likely to do that than a human doctor/nurse
>>105623454this has already happened and the result as usual is basically "who has more money" and "who does the judge hate more"
tesla has been sued to no avail for people dying thanks to its autopilot, lawyers have used AI-hallucenated cases as precedents, etc.

No you do not have the option of reverting this.
If you hate jeets in big tech, you should know that their time is ticking before they're considered a security threat to hire (similar to how Chinese ultimately became that).
Israel basically pwned Iranian airgaps by forcing a full-stack betrayal bleed: 25 years of RAW-Mossad wetware riding India's labor API now broadcasting SIGINT cancer across every Gulf node. That 'innocent' diaspora? Wasn't a bug, it was the ultimate RAT firmware.
Mossad wrote rootkits, RAW compiled human .dlls, and TCS/Wipro containers shipped the poisoned dependencies.
Now the compile fails hard: Tehran's OPSEC dumps show Indian techs as meat-based backdoors, Qatar firewalls flagged L&T binaries as Trojan payloads, and GCC states are purging all desi packages. New Delhi's consular screams just confirm the pwn log.
>>105623873>mossad wetware, huamn dlls, consular pwn logthis analogy is so tortured i'm going to have to report you to the Hague

The boss is forcing us to find new ways to use AI to be "more productive". I'm positive he's gonna use it to justify future layoffs. How to sabotage?
>so fucking burnt out of work almost everything my boss tells me or asks me has me seething.
I can't tell if it's the burn out or if the ways he's doing things is extremely fucking dumb. One thing we're doing is duplicating data so we have historical data since our software overwrites the old information with the new information even if it doesn't make sense. Did anyone bitch? There is no way it wasn't on purpose that techbros called their dogshit java library for encrapting messages spat out by and for java applets(idk its own site does not include an elevator pitch) the exact same thing as (anti-)rifle plates. Their SEO is on point (and I only learned of it because the top page of results were this software thing instead of ceramic armor plates) and the plates predate the library by 15 years and just have the misfortune of not being a trademark because it's a military specification and not an individual product.

>>105625204are you a tech, or even just a local friendly face for fix-it stuff? if it's literally your job to deal with that then ofc they're emailing you; they dont think you're messing with it, you're just the only point of contact they know. and if you're just the guy that tends to help, in any organization there's a proclivity to ask who you know before submitting a ticket. it usually gets resolved faster, and honestly, the people who already know eachother tend to do better work for eachother. even as glorified hell desk myself, there's a certain measure of "You didn't hear this from me, but..." for users I don't hate.

I'm at a coworking space (like WeWork) thereโs a Touretteโs autism type guy who has the most insane tics and occasionally his spazz outs are so loud and aggressive that itโs just hard to not look away (which is what ppl do most of the time).
His tic is literally screaming "I dont KNOW i don't KNOW" and then making this bizarre moaning, almost retching noise noise like he's about to throw up. Most of the time, absolutely no one looks at him and I learned really quickly that this is the resident tourrettes autist tic guy
But like once or twice a day he has a tic that is so loud and aggressive you just cannot ignore the fact that there's a retarded man having a very loud breakdown in the coworking space that we all pay a couple hundred bucks a month for

>>105625587the actual non-meme answer for people who aren't coomers or are incapable of working near where their video games are is they generally have faster wifi and comfier furniture than you would at home, and you can borrow certain equipment you might not have wanted to buy yourself 10 years ago (high end headsets, good webcams, etc). many locations also have an on-site cafeteria or at least a cafe, but they have office furniture including sound-dampening dividers and shit so it's easier to work from than just hitting up starbucks.
these days they've pivoted more to what convention centers used to do -- the idea now is to cater to startups that dont have a physical office but still need a boardroom for meetings/conferences. some non WeWorkโข equivalents are straight up just timeshares but for offices instead of vacation homes so you even get to store stuff there.

>>105633807nta but that place got me interviews really easy. Im 100% convinced linkedin is all fake postings
>>105634030le based trump wont do anything about h1b. he should downsize the program massively. its crazy almost half of all domestic engineers are indians. policy makers are asleep at the wheel allowing shit like that to happen. 40% of domestic engineers being citizens of a foreign, non allied country is so retarded it has to be some sort of intentional self sabotage.
imagine how good the job market would be if he just forced 15% of those jobs to hire US citizens like theyre supposed to. who are we kidding though we need 100k indians with fake experience trained by durgasoft to maintain everything. theres just no americans capable of such incredible feats programming like leaking our data every other week
god everything is gay right now
>>105630400You aren't going to like it
>>105634628It is really funny because any decision will upset the other side. Allowing more jeets makes the capitalists happy but upsets the racists. Sending the jeets packing makes the racists happy but upsets the capitalists. I'm having fun watching it unfold because I still have my job but it must suck for everyone else getting jeet'd.
>>105634671>won't someone think of the poor billionaire capitalists replacing you with third worlders in your country?
>>105634405it's an insult anon, but who cares, doesn't mean you need to hyperfixate on it
>>105623066 (OP)how do i impregnate her saars
>LinkedIn account randomly viewed by somebody at "Challenger, Grey, and Christmas"
>It's an outplacement company that helps people who got laid off find a new job
I'm fucked, aren't I?
>>105634788>it's an insultFuck, I knew it
How can I change it
>>105633807it's even more barren than linkedin and indeed in my country, might be more of a US thing
>>105635066Be less sarcastic and don't use dry humor, better yet just stop caring. My excuse for not going to the company party was "Let's be real I just don't like any of you people" and at this point I am hope they interpreted it literally.
>>105634671The racist capitalists will be extremely happy though.
coding is so unfulfilling
>coworker called me out for "bikeshedding" when reviewing his PR
>his code didn't even work because he had the wrong variables all over the place and I was showing him a way to prevent that kind of mistake
>scrum master who doesn't code told me to keep my comments relevant because we need to release this quickly
>didn't know how to respond without sounding like an asshole so I just nodded along
Sometimes I wish I could just be a douchebag and not give a fuck what people think
>>105635066if you're socially retarded for whatever reason just get used to it because people probably insult you like this all the time without you realizing
>>105635624It's not as obvious as it sounds, because we have a lot of ESLs in our company and all of the other people gave me very positive feedback . So it might have just been a bad use of words
should I always add a cover letter?
>>105623386Yes, write. You have nothing to lose and if the recruiter is a "go-getter" he will want to show his bosses he is doing work be forwarding you to the good recruiter for your area or taking your case him/herself. Good luck.
>>105623454>What's going to really decide the future of AI here is the first time it's brought into a legal case.my brother in Christ the cat is out of the bag already, we have open source models everywhere, even I a complete retard have them in my computer and I can fill them with all my retardation.
aren't you guys abusing AI for everything? I can get so much shit done now I'm happy I didn't hire a couple of software developers last year as I planned to. Claude+Cursor and you can do decent code with the right prompts. Back in the day I would have an idea and take days or weeks to deploy, now I can do in two days.
and yes, corporate girl boss jobs are in danger of being eliminated real soon. i don't see any reason these companies will keep these if we really go into a recession.

Copilot bros.....
I got called out by name for not doing my job today. It wasn't even on my plate and I handed it off to a different team and the blame somehow was going my way.
Wow, I know it's not even on me but I'm now pissed with that team and the fucker that called me out. Haven't had this shit happen to me in 4 years.
>>105636089deny, deflect, adapt, overcome
never really connected with any coworkers the past 5 jobs i've had. i think i'm always glossed over when it comes to recognition. i think it's time to switch jobs again.
>boss is retarded asshole
>talks out of both sides of his mouth
>will regularly ignore emails for weeks but will have a mental breakdown if i miss a text while shitting
>regularly will blame me for things he did not do
>pretty sure he is embezzling the company from his side gig which he has contractors under
>refuses to actually spend the money at the sites that ask for it
>have not had a performance review in years
>make like 25$ an hour
>job market is ass
how do i escape this hell
>>105636114deny, deflect, adapt, overcome
>>105636103Oh, my client handled it but I'm still pissed. Besides, I have all receipts and can cover my ass.
>>105636114i never put in effort anymore, do as little as possible, use chatgpt to make the things you do sound super important/impactful when you talk with leadership, always agree with your boss/bosses boss even if they're wrong (NEVER QUESTION THEM)
stop caring about your job. if something goes wrong try to deflect blame
>>105636189this made me realised i always cared too much wanting to do more but always end up hating everything then moving on. i should coast on min effort and do side projs. nice great post thanks
>>105636189i report to a C suite and they all hate each other, we are not even in the same state so it gets weird and asskissing nonsense is impossible
>>105636189>always agree with your boss/bosses boss even if they're wrong (NEVER QUESTION THEM)this is such toxic behaviour. I did it for a while and yes life is easier. but Im way too confrontational and too prideful. no wonder I got fired
>hmm why don't I try falling asleep without watching a YouTube video today
>daemons begin terrorizing me immediately
need less to say, I didn't sleep much, and I'm feeling like crying right now.
fuck sakes bros, I'm a tired faggot today
time for the gym
>>105636301>>daemons... the computer programs or the schizo kind?
>>105626839How did you achieve this? Quick rundown please
>>105636323past trauma and stuck in bad situations currently.
I need to vanish without a trace, perhaps to another city, idk
this company... how can they make money with this dogshit product
>>105625608I feel this pain. I love working from home but it may be hard to get shit done with all the fucking constant distractions. I have a pregnant wife and a toddler and it's hard to focus. And when I get some calm and free time I often see myself playing dota to "relax"
There are no coworking spaces where I live but I make the coffee shop my bureau at least once a week and I feel I accomplish a lot even if it's not ideal
>>105630416He could still pivot. Offer it to end consumers who might not have health coverage or want to save money as a quick diagnostic tool.
>>105633992over 9000 new grads vs.flat job opening for years in a row.
Grim.
