exactly, Silky's story was realistic, and compared to others, it was kind of a social commentary. What hits the most personally it's that she's a mom, and mother's love is one of the most pure things existing in the world, to watch it get so brutally tainted by actually existing things, not Yokais or aliens, but people, hits close to home. You could see all her dreams, broken, how she dreamed once to be a ballerina, then teaching her child to be one, spending all her money to gift her that dress, they felt like real people.
Her ending, altho bittersweet, was sad because the girls could barely do anything to "save" her besides giving her soul some peace, a fake peace since her child is dead

With Zuma we didn't know much about his mom, Zuma's was tragic but it was backstory with shock value, that was the intent of THAT panel. We got to know everything about Silky, she was miserable every moment of her life except when she was with her child, and things got worse and worse progressing when the only light in her life was taken away.
